Yearly new tulip varieties are introduced. On the other hand varieties aren't grown anymore and disappear from the market. In the Hortus Bulborum in Limmen (near Alkmaar) 3,500 different tulips, daffodils, hyacinths and other bulbous plants flower each spring.
